“For the last few months Phil has been having issues, basically he can’t get an erection. It’s to do with his medication for the stress.” I wasn’t aware Phil was ill. “There have been a lot of changes where he works, the stress got to him. Things are getting better, but he will still be on the drugs for another month. When he finishes with the medication, we hope things go back to normal.” Heather paused and looked at me.
“Lorna and I talk, just like other Mum’s and daughters, we always have. There are some things you don’t know about Lorna, about her growing up.” I wondered where the hell this was heading. “We, as in Phil and I, never hide anything from Lorna. If she asked a question we answered it, obviously an age appropriate answer. When Lorna was eighteen I sat her down and had a chat. We talked about sex. I told Lorna about mine and Phil’s sex life. I explained how sex is nothing to be ashamed of, it’s important to both people in a relationship. May I have a drink please?”
I got us a drink and waited for Heather to continue.
“Lorna had so many questions, some for me, some for Phil, and some we both answered. One night after answering a few questions, Lorna asked if she could watch me and Phil. As I said we never hide anything from her. We both thought about it, in the end we agreed Lorna could watch. Phil and I did everything we would normally do in bed. At first I was nervous about having her watch us, talking about sex is one thing, having our eighteen year old daughter watch us was different. “Call her, if you don’t believe me, call Lorna.” I called Lorna, it was on speaker.
“Hi love, what’s up?” Lorna asked.
“Your Mum is here with me, she has been telling me about you two having an agreement, one that involves me.” Lorna was quiet.
“Sorry, I had to move into another room. Yes, Mum and I spoke, I told her to call over and you would look after her. Sorry I never talked to you about it, I didn’t know what to say.” We could hear the girls in the background calling Lorna. “I have to go, please love, look after Mum for me. We can talk when I get back, love you, bye.”
