I left closing the door after me and saw Sang waiting nearby. I walked past him and only nodded okay. I sent him a text message telling him to keep one more copy of the evidence photos with him only.
He replied saying he already has it ready at his place. I replied telling him to keep it safe in case I need it in the future. The time was 5.30pm now and I wanted to go have a drink and blow off some steam.
I remembered a pub close by so took my phone to book a cab. As luck would have had it Ravi turned up. I sat in his cab and said “looks like coincidences seem to be happening pretty frequently now”.
He replied “see Anu, it’s not like that. I have updated my preferences to remain somewhere close to this area on my app so I mostly get rides to and from this area. Right now I was about to wind up for the day and had marked it as my last ride”.
He looked at the location showing on his app and asked “are you going to a party or something”? I replied “no I just wanted to get a drink and release some frustration”.
Ravi asked “so you are not meeting anyone there Anu”? I said “no”. He asked “would you mind settling at my place so I can also enjoy your company over a drink”?
I replied “yes I would love it too. What’s your poison”? Ravi said “mostly beer but rum also sometimes. What about you Anu”? I excitedly replied “same rum or beer, ok then stop at a store quickly, let me buy some rum”.
He pulled over outside a store and I picked up a bottle of old monk with some chips and quick bites. We reached his place which was just two blocks away from mine.
A nice small duplex house with an overloaded garden. I asked “who is fond of gardening here Ravi”? He replied “I love gardening and as you can see I don’t have any place left for more plants anymore”.
I said “I too love gardening, maybe I will take you to my place someday so you can give me some tips to enhance my garden”. I went inside following him.
